DO PASTO AO PRATO is committed to giving you the best available information on the origin and impact of the meat sold in Brazil. The data used by the app and the website combines public information on slaughterhouses and processors, health and safety violations, labor conditions analogous to slavery, deforestation, and heat/fire hotspots.
DO PASTO AO PRATO is committed to offering you the best available information about the origin and the impact of the beef sold in Brazil. The data used by the app and the website combines public information about meatpacking plants and processors, health inspection violations, slavery-like working conditions, deforestation and fire hotspots.
We make every reasonable effort to ensure the quality and accuracy of the data. But we acknowledge that some information has limitations, even when it comes from official public sources. We keep improving the quality of our data and are committed to communicating those limitations transparently.
By accessing the app or the website, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms of Use. We also recommend reading our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy carefully.
Disclaimer
The information and analyses provided by DO PASTO AO PRATO — including indicators, data and visualisations available in the app and on the website — are provided “as is”. The user assumes full risk associated with the use of this information; DO PASTO AO PRATO and its partners are not liable for damages arising from the use of the information, nor do they make any claim about the suitability of specific decisions taken by the user on the basis of it.
The data held by DO PASTO AO PRATO on risks in the supply chain of slaughterhouses and supermarket products is illustrative — it does not mean that a particular cut of beef was linked to cases of illegality. Full traceability of beef products, covering every farm the animal passed through, is not yet feasible across Brazil; the app indicators are based on detailed data about the municipalities or farms that supplied cattle to each meatpacking plant between 2016 and 2025, and on the social and environmental risks associated with each location. The scientific method behind each indicator is detailed at this link: https://www.dopastoaoprato.com.br/docs/metodo-do-pasto-ao-prato.pdf

Account (app)
When registering in the app, you must provide your full name and a valid e-mail address, which you must be authorised to use and have access to. Creating an account is intended for users over 18; users between 12 and under 18 must have specific consent from a parent or legal guardian, as detailed in our Privacy Policy.
Using the app
The app and the data it holds have two approved uses:
Education: users can scan the label of beef products to learn about their origin and the supply chain risks of each product; and
Citizen science: scanning the label of beef products to contribute data to an initiative mapping supply chains in Brazil.
Using the website and data licensing
The website offers, among other resources, dashboards with aggregate data on the Brazilian beef supply chain. The charts, indicators and other data representations available in the dashboards may be freely reused under the Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 licence, as long as due credit is given.
If you use charts, data or indicators from DO PASTO AO PRATO, attribution is mandatory: you must clearly identify DO PASTO AO PRATO as the source and include a link to www.dopastoaoprato.com.br or to the specific page the content was taken from. That attribution may not suggest that DO PASTO AO PRATO endorses or authorises a specific use of the data, nor does it allow the use of our brand or logo without prior authorisation — for that, get in touch at dopastoaoprato@trase.earth.
Cancellation and termination
To delete your account, send an e-mail titled “Apagar conta” from the e-mail address linked to your account to dopastoaoprato@trase.earth. Since app usage data is anonymous (not linked to your identity after this process), data about scanned products is kept, in line with our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these Terms of Use
We may adjust these Terms of Use in the event of platform development, legal changes or changes to the range of products and services offered. Material changes will be communicated to registered users by e-mail at least 30 days before they take effect, and published in the app and on the website. If you disagree with the changes, you may close your account at any time before the effective date; continued use after that date indicates agreement with the new version.
Governing law and jurisdiction
Use of DO PASTO AO PRATO and related legal disputes are governed by the laws of England, where Global Canopy is based, without prejudice to the mandatory data protection and consumer protection rules applicable to users located in Brazil.
